Continuous inkjets
Continuous inkjets, also known as CIJ (Continuous Inkjet), represent a non-contact printing technology that is highly valued in the industry for its speed, versatility and efficiency.
The main advantages of continuous inkjet
- Speed - CIJ printers are able to print very quickly, which is ideal for high-speed production lines.
- Versatility - they can print on a wide range of materials including glass, metal, plastic, wood, foil and tape.
- Low acquisition costs - CIJ printers have relatively low acquisition costs, making them affordable for a variety of industrial applications.
- Easy operation - they are designed for easy use with minimal maintenance.
- Flexibility - continuous inkjet allows printing different types of serial numbers, barcodes, etc.
Other advantages of TIJ include, for example, quieter operation, because they are generally quieter than other types of printers, black and white and color printing and a relatively low purchase price.
Areas of industry using CIJ
- Food industry – for marking primary and group packaging
- Beverage industry - for labeling bottles and packaging
- Pharmaceutical industry - for drug labeling and packaging
- Electrical industry - for marking electronic parts and equipment
- Automotive industry - for marking parts and components
- Construction industry – for marking building materials
Continuous inkjet technology
CIJ printers are very fast and accurate. Thanks to a sophisticated system that combines ink with thinner, they can print from a distance of 1 to 20 mm, while the ink has the ideal viscosity for sharp and lasting printing. The most commonly used thinners are based on methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), but there are also variants with acetone or ethanol, which ensure that the ink dries immediately after contact with air, in a time range from fractions of a second to several seconds. The colors and properties of the inks are very diverse. Some inks are specifically designed for printing on packaging, while others are suitable for direct contact with food. We also offer inks with unique physical properties - such as ink that changes color during pasteurization, or inks that react to UV light, which bring another dimension to product safety and traceability.
König&Bauer continuous inkjets
Our portfolio offers inkjet printers of the König&Bauer brand, which has more than a century of tradition in the field of innovation in the printing industry. These printers are synonymous with efficiency, with exceptionally low ink and solvent consumption, where solvent consumption can reach as little as 2ml per hour, thanks to advanced Peltier cell technology. We have a wide range of models to choose from that will satisfy the needs of both small and medium-sized businesses. Our range starts with the Alphajet Mondo, ideal for the food industry, and continues through the Alphajet 5 HS for high-speed printing and the Alphajet 5 SP for small character printing. For those looking for a balance between speed and quality, there is the Alphajet 5 HS-M. The top of our offer are the Alphajet 5X and 5X-FP models, which represent the top in the field of inkjet printing. These printers offer automatic printhead flushing, a heated print chamber and an automatic nozzle cap, which ensures the highest print quality. With a maximum printing speed of hundreds of meters per minute, these machines are ideal for the most demanding applications.
