Aluminum parts marking project In the engineering industry, many manufacturers require automated marking. The customer approached us with a request for marking aluminum parts. It was necessary to indelibly mark the machined aluminum castings with a 2D code, verify it and send it to the customer’s superior system. Next, distinguish several production parts and mark the correct code on each of them. We thus created a workplace for the customer with a four-position carousel table, into which the operator manually places and removes parts. The operator sets up the part and just presses the start button without any need to select a program or make complex settings. The station moves it into the camera area, where the part is identified and the corresponding 2D code is automatically selected. After the next part is installed, it will move to the position that is set by the laser. The laser ensures the marking itself with a 2D code, based on the information from the camera, it knows which part and code it is. After further installation, the part is moved to the space fitted with a reader, the 2D code is checked and entered into the system. The next moved part reaches the operator’s space and he picks it up. Thanks to the carousel concept, marking and checking takes place while the operator is placing or removing parts, thus minimizing downtime. This, in turn, mainly results in production efficiency and great cost savings.
