Will the QR code one day replace the identity card, credit cards, leaflets or even some professions?

A cluster of black squares, which is basically just a new, more informationally “powerful” version of the bar codes of old, has recently been promoted as a solution to a fundamental question of the era in which we live.

CODE CAN BE ALMOST ANYWHERE

It suits any surface on which two colors – black and white – will keep their shape. The surface should be flat (can or bottle is not a problem). If it is to be practical, the code should be larger than 2 x 2 centimeters. Stores hundreds to thousands of characters. It’s not a lot, but not a little either. Industry uses machine vision systems to read QR codes.
CUSTOMERS LIKED IT

From a purely layman’s, user’s point of view, there are several quite different payment methods, in approximate order of practical usability

1. cash
2. payment card with PIN code
3. contactless payment card
4. payment by mobile phone
5. QR code.

The fourth and fifth places can basically be combined into one.
Why did the QR code become popular? From a global point of view, it is probably also a cultural thing, it has been widely used in East Asia for a long time.
